Thank you to Hillsborough Fashions Gala who provided the financial support needed to create this guide. Thanks to Joan Maloney, Breast Health Specialist, South-East Regional Hospital Authority and Lowleen Coles, UNB Nursing Professor.
This booklet was the initiative of third year UNB Nursing students Diane Steeves, Jessica Richard, Terri Mosher, Janice Worth, Andrea Craig, Ashley Leaman and Brenda-Anne Haire. The nursing students thank the women undergoing breast cancer treatment and the survivors for helping with development of this guide.
The resource guide was designed by the nursing students in hopes that it will help women navigate the journey through breast cancer with needed information quickly and easily.
A launch of the resource guide was hosted by the UNB Nursing students on November 20, 2007 at the Moncton City Hall Lobby. Guest speakers were Joan Maloney, RN, MN, Lowleen Coles, UNB Nursing Professor, Catherine Aquino Russell, Associate Professor of the BN Program and Eileen Whyte as a survivor on how the Resource Guide will be a positive tool for women dealing with breast cancer needs.
The Resource Guides are available from general practitioners, surgeons and the Oncology Clinics.
