During Breast Cancer Awareness Month Curves in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia came up with a fun way for both members and staff to raise money for a great cause.  We made a two lane race track on the floor in the center of the circuit.  The track was approximately 75 feet in length.

One lane was run by a well known member, while the other lane was run by a staff member.  The people who were chosen are known for getting people going and involved.  They did an excellent job in drumming up donations for their cars to win, thus increasing the donations for breast cancer awareness.  For every dollar someone donated, the person was able to chose which car got to move ahead two inches along the track.

The members really got into the race and began wondering who would be ahead each time they came in.  Before the end of the month, members and staff were already talking about how we should make the race an annual event with a plaque stating each year’s winner.

So all-in-all, our idea became a greater success than we could have hoped for.  Thanks to the generosity of our members, friends, and co-workers we raised $1000 for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Keeping with the community spirit of our members we at Bible Hill Curves are donating monies raised to two local breast cancer charities, the SOS Dragon Boat Team and Caring for Cancer Patients.
